Scott Wolfrey

Scott entered the solar industry in 2015 after being hired as an intern. He spent early days in solar by working on HOA layouts, providing basic customer services and mapping electrical lines for a land development team. Quickly learning the fundamentals, design criteria, installation best practices, and operational management of solar, he progressed to managing the operations for multiple companies in South Carolina, including the management of countless residential, commercial, and utility projects. He now works as the VP for Boss Energy managing company operations and development and focused on the expansion of the company in the Southeast in Solar and EV infrastructure.

Originally from Maryland, this transplant relocated to South Carolina to attend Coastal Carolina University, later graduating with a degree in Marine Science. Without the formal education for renewable energy, Scott’s knowledge has grown through the sheer volume and exposure of projects, gaining solar “street” knowledge.

This is Scott’s first year on the board. It’s his hope to see the Council provide guidance to a strong solar industry in South Carolina. He hopes to bring his experience to support workforce development, education, and policy. It my hope to see the council become an integral member of the solar industry for South Carolina.
